Abstract

1316323 Pharmaceutical vials PARKE DAVIS & CO 1 Oct 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 46832/70 Heading A5R [Also in Division B8] A pharmaceutical vial comprises a one-piece glass vessel 10 divided into isolated compartments 21, 22 by a glass wall 20, integral with the side wall of the vessel and having a neck 23 sealed by a water-impermeable elastomeric plug (25), Figs. 1A and 2A (not shown), the plug being needle-pierceable and being retained in fixed sealing relationship within the neck by at least one stop (29, 25a). The vial may be used to store a dry component 17 and a vehicle 18 which may be mixed into a syringeable mixture immediately prior to use by means of a hypodermic syringe. The vessel is closed by a plug 15 and may be supplied with the cannula by a syringe passing through the plug 15 and embedded in the plug (25).
