Abstract
1313416 Surveying; photo-electric refraction measuring CARL ZEISS JENA VEB 22 May 1970 24821/70 Headings G1A and G1F [Also in Division G2] Apparatus for determining the influence of atmospheric refraction on a reference line comprises a light transmitter 2 spaced from a reflector 7, the reflector 7 being tiltably adjustable to reflect light to a detector 4 so that from the adjustment of the reflector 7 refraction errors can be determined. The reflector 7 may comprise a mirror or prism arranged in a pivoted framework to be tiltable about two perpendicular axes of which at least one axis is perpendicular to the optical axis of a light beam from the transmitter. The transmitter may be a laser device and provided with prisms 10 to 13 and photo-electric devices 15 to 18 for sensing light reflected from the reflector, the photo-electric devices being so spaced and arranged that electric signals are transmitted to automatically adjust the reflector 7 when any inbalance occurs in the light received by the photo-electric devices 15 to 18.
