Abstract

1312645 Tankers WESER AG 23 July 1970 [23 July 1969] 35825/70 Headings B7A and B7S A tanker has a hold, which is divided into central tanks 8 and side tanks 9, 10 by longitudinal and transverse bulkheads 5, 6, 7, and a double bottom the inner bottom 11 having a greater inclination towards the sides and the longitudinal bulkheads being substantially offset from the centre of the half ship's width towards the sides of the strip. The side tanks 9, 10 are connected by closable apertures 12 with the central tank 8. Ducts 14, 15 are arranged on each side of a service passage 16 which is arranged above a further tunnel 17. Closable apertures 19, 20 connect the ducts 14, 15 with the central tanks 8 and apertures 18 connect the tunnel 17 with ballast tanks in the double bottom. In a variant, Fig. 3, the ducts 14, 15 are connectable through apertures 19, 20 to alternate central tanks 8.
