Abstract

1312575 Seb advancing means for selective printers INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 16 Sept 1971 [9 Nov 1970] 43154/71 Heading B6F The hammer mechanism 24 and tractor feed 19 of a stationary frame printer are mounted on side plate members 44 which are pivoted to the machine frame at 46. Pivoting the side plates to an open position (Fig. 3) causes idler rollers 60 to engage continuously driven feed rollers 50, so that the leading end of a form B threaded between guides 17a, 17b, is advanced to the tractor feed 19. The idler rollers 60 are mounted on a spring-loaded slide 62. A cam 68 mounted on one side plate member 44 engages the slide 62 to move the idler rollers 60 away from the feed rollers 50 when the machine is in the closed position for printing. A lever (86, Fig. 2) manually moves the slide 62 to disengage the feed and idler rollers.
