Abstract

1311810 Stapling machines MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 6 Aug 1970 [15 Aug 1969] 38068/70 Heading B4C An electro - magnetically - operated stapling machine comprises a staple driving lever 18 urged downwardly in response to energization of electromagnet 14, 15 which is controlled by a micro-switch (36) (Fig. 2, not shown) actuated in a manner similar to that disclosed in Specification 1,310,765 when a lever 9 is pivoted by the material to be stapled. A driven staple has its legs turned inwardly or outwardly by pairs of grooves 48, 49 respectively in an anvil plate 44. The plate is rotatable about axis of shaft 47 by a manually operable lever 63, and is held by spring 59 in one or other of two limit positions defined by the ends of slot 53 and a projection (50) (Fig. 3, not shown) which extends into the slot. In each limit position a respective pair of grooves will be aligned with a staple driving hammer 24.
