Abstract

1308905 Folding and cutting paper LINOTYPE & MACHINERY Ltd 26 March 1970 [20 Feb 1969] 9203/69 Heading B8R The tucker blades 3 and 3<SP>1</SP> of a folding drum 1 are caused to project only twice from the drum per cycle, Fig. 4, by means of a mechanism 16 imparting oscillatory motion to the folding drum shaft and thus to sun gear 20 to which the tucker blade shafts are coupled through planet gears 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and idler gears 15, 15<SP>1</SP>. A longitudinally folded web is impaled on picker pins 4, cut by a blade on cutting cylinder 2, folded between rollers 9, 9<SP>1</SP> and delivered to table 18 by a rotary stacker 11. The oscillatory mechanism 16 is driven from cutting cylinder shaft 53. The drum 1 is driven from cutting cylinder 2 by a gear connection, not shown.
