Abstract
1306512 Organolithium compound SANDOZ Ltd 23 Feb 1970 [5 Mareh 1969 19 May 1969 9 Oct 1969] 36701/72 Divided out of 1306511 Headings C2C and C2J The compound of Formula IV is prepared by reacting the compound with a C 1-4 alkyl-lithium under an inert atmosphere and in an organic solvent such as hexane, heptane, diethyl ether or THF, usually at room temperature to 100‹ C. Compounds of Formula I in free base or acid addition salt form, where R and R 1 are H, F or Cl are prepared by reacting the compound of Formula IV above with where X is Cl, Br or -O-(C 1-4 alkyl) under an inert atmosphere and in an organic solvent, hydrolysing the resulting adduct and converting into the free base form or acid addition salt form as required. In the examples, the 5-(pchlorophenyl), 5-(3,4-dichlorophenyl) and 5-(3- fluorophenyl) compounds are prepared.
