Abstract

1306448 Submerged tanks SOC ANON DES ENTREPRISES LEON BALLOT 3 Aug 1970 [5 Aug 1969] 37364/70 Heading E1H A reinforced-concrete reservoir for a liquid hydrocarbon includes a hollow cylindrical body closed at each end by a wall 4 and supported on subaqueous ground by at least two partitions 5, each having inner and outer parts 5a, 5b, orifices 6, 7 and a foot 8. Additional partitions 9 may be provided to strengthen the cylindrical body. The ambient water has access to the interior of the body through an opening 11, water in said interior being expelled as the liquid enters through an orifice 10. Several reservoirs can be coupled together by cables or rods 13 passing through holes 12 in the partitions 5, which are separated by blocks 14. One row of reservoirs may be superimposed on another, Figs. 7 to 9 (not shown), the feet 8 being omitted in the upper row. Chambers (15), Fig. 5 (not shown), may be provided to facilitate insertion of the cables or rods 13.
