1306368 Locks WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd 3 June 1970 [4 June 1969] 28214/69 Heading E2A A door handle assembly comprises a recessed handle mounting member 10, a handle 4 mounted on the member 1 for pivoting outwardly thereof a latch release lever 7 pivoting on the member, a linkage operative to effect release including a push rod 19 between the handle and lever and a locking device which when operative provides idle release movement of the handle. An operating arm 6 connected at right angles to the handle 4 is pivotally connected to the push rod 19 which has a blunt end engageable with one arm of a two arm lever 10 pivotable together with the lever 7 on a pivot 9. The lever 7 is connected by a member 8 to the latch. The levers 7 and 10 has each a slot 12, 13 in which engages a pin 15 on a link 14 which is pivotally connected to a two arm locking lever 18 operated by a key operated lock 17 in a boss 16 normally the levers move together to release the latch but when the lock is actuated the pin 15 moves to an arm of the slot 12 offset from the slot 13. In a modification Fig. 6 the pin 15 projects from a link 32, connected by a pin and a slot to a locking link 34 and lock plate 30, into a slot 36 in the back plate and an L shaped slot at one end of the push rod. In releasing position, the pin 15 engages in a side notch in a member the nose 18a of which engages and turns the lever 7. When the lock is actuated the pin 15 is moved by the locking link 34 to disengage the notch rendering the release handle inoperative.
