Abstract

1304342 Rope ladders A C HOUGH 6 March 1970 [8 Jan 1969] 1154/69 Heading E1S A rope ladder for hanging from a support comprises two lengths of rope threaded through holes in the opposite ends of aluminium rungs, successive rungs being held apart by tubular spacers also threaded on the rope. The ropes are each secured to the bottom rung and extend beyond the upper rung to be attached to means for securing the ladder on the support. In a preferred embodiment a single length of rope is looped under the bottom rung. The rungs and spacers are of circular section. Washers of nylon may be inserted between the rungs and the spacers to reduce wear and noise.
