Abstract

1302030 Subaqueous structures SOC ANON DES ENTREPRISES LEON BALLOT 30 Dec 1969 [30 Dec 1968] 61283/69 Heading E1H In a concrete reservoir for storing fluid hydrocarbons underwater mutually-perpendicular reinforcing-rods are disposed so that each of walls 18, 19, 19b, 20 between vertical prismatic cells, and preferably each of side walls 16, 17 too, is pre-stressed in two directions at right angles in the plane of the wall and each of junctions 19a, and preferably each of junctions 18a, 20a, 21 also, is pre-stressed in three directions at right angles. The cells may extend between a floor (7) and a roof (15) of the reservoir and have openings therein interconnecting the cells, Fig. 2 (not shown). The floor may rest on a pad (9). Reinforcing rods may be provided in the roof, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown). The cell walls may be prefabricated, Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown). The junctions may be formed integrally with the walls, Figs. 11 and 12 (not shown).
