1300935 Pneumatic conveyers DORR OLIVER CO Ltd 18 Nov 1970 [18 Aug 1969] 41064/69 Heading B8A A valve for flowable material comprises a housing 1, Fig. 1 with inlet and outlet conduits 3, 4, an horizontal plate 5, 6 and a compressed air inlet 7. Material coming down inlet 3 rests at its angle of repose 8 until it is dislodged by the jet of compressed air from the inlet 7. Switching off the air supply arrests the flow of material, Fig. 2, (not shown), illustrates an arrangement in which the lever of material in an upper fluidized bed is controlled automatically by means including a valve as described above.
