Abstract

1300878 Gas blast circuit breakers BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 28 May 197 [1 Aug 1970] 17884/71 Heading H1N A gas blast circuit breaker has a movable nozzle contact 23 interlocked in the closed position with, and surrounded by, valve sleeve 29 such that during the opening operation the valve will open and then subsequently reclose. The interlocking mechanism comprises pins 43 which are caused by spring biased cam 43 to engage an abutment surface on sleeve 29 until cam 44 strikes member 32 and pins 43 enter the recessed part 46. When sleeve 29 leaves the seal 28 the gas blast passes through contact 23 into the low pressure chamber 13. A compressor may be connected at 14 to recirculate the gas. The contact 23 is operated by means of a piston and a toggle linkage.
