Abstract

1300703 Lubricating KOMBINAT PUMPEN UND VERDICHTER VEB 2 Aug 1971 36150/71 Heading F2A A lubricating system for a machine with at least one reciprocating piston comprises a forced lubrication system for the piston drive including a pressure limiting device 9 with relief discharge means, lubricating means for a cylinder in which a piston reciprocates, a conduit connecting the device to a first lubricating reservoir 12 defining a reservoir of the lubricating means and a return conduit, between the first reservoir and a second reservoir 1 defining a reservoir for the forced lubrication system, the reservoirs and the return conduit being so arranged that lubricant is returned to the second reservoir when the lubricant level in the first reservoir exceeds a predetermined level. The lubricant is supplied to the piston drive from the second reservoir 1 via a coarse filter 3, a gear pump 5 a fine filter 6 and a lubricant cooler 7. The supply line is provided with a manometer 10 and a pressure relief valve 9. The relief discharge orifice of the valve is connected to the reservoir 12 of the lubricating device for the cylinder. Lubricant may overflow from the reservoir 12 via a discharge port 13 through a conduit 14 to the reservoir 1. A device for heating the oil may be provided if required. The manometer 10 monitors the pressure of lubricant and may be so adapted that in the event of lubricant failure the machine is shut down.
