Abstract

1299997 Portable containers; packages boxes FIRST DYNAMICS Inc 22 Sept 1970 [2 March 1970] 45127/70 Addition to 1253195 Headings B8C B8D and B8P In a modification of the parent Specification a removable tear-strip 15 is adhered to a planar cover 11 of a sealed liquid container 10 over an inwardly-directed wall or cover recess 12 to retain a plastics straw 13 nested therein and seal a straw-insertion opening or aperture 14 in said cover. The recess may be in the form of a groove extending along the diagonal of the wall, or along the diameter or major axis if the container is of circular or elliptical crosssection, and may be widened at 17 intermediate its length to facilitate removal of the straw. The aperture 14 may be of "figure of eight", triangular, or elliptical configuration or formed by slit-flaps, Figs. 4-8 (not shown), to resiliently grip the straw on insertion therethrough. The tear-strip is provided with a free finger tip portion 16. In a modification, Fig. 8, (not shown), the straw is bent to V-form and nested in a recess of triangular configuration, and the straw-insertion aperture is provided in the bottom of the recess.
