Abstract

1298675 Diaphragm vibrator JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 20 April 1970 [11 June 1969] 29514/69 Heading G5J A motor horn type vibrator has contacts 25, 26, which are adjusted by a bolt 27, whose head is fixed against axial movement by a member 28 enclosing the head, but leaving a portion exposed for a screwdriver. Rotation of the bolt can take place. The member 28 is made from a stepped sleeve, the smaller part being deformed to form flanges 29, the larger part being deformed over the head of the bolt. The moving contact 26 on a spring 24 is operated by a fibre washer 19 on a stepped armature 17. A moulded synthetic resin split nut 23 moves axially when the bolt is rotated to set the contacts. The winding 15 is on a synthetic resin former 14, and electrical contact is provided via a terminal, to member 21, bridge piece 22, or the contacts 25, 26 and spring 24 to the winding, whose other end is connected to another terminal. The member 28 may rotate with the bolt. An adjustable polepiece 16 is provided, and after fine adjustment with the bolt 27, the bolt 27 and the member 28 are sealed with paint which is used to coat the horn.
