Abstract
1297723 Propellers T ZEISE 17 May 1971 [29 May 1970] 15216/71 Heading B7V The blading of a propeller for a super-tanker or other large ship is carried by separate hubs 1a, 1b which can be fitted individually to the propeller shaft. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement in which hub la carries blades 2a, and hub 1b carries blades 2b, the sets of blades being shaped so that the tips 4a, 4b lie in the same plane. In a modification (Fig. 5) the hubs each carry half a blade section (2a, 2b) which sections mate in a plane 7 to form a composite propeller.
