Abstract
1296779 Air break switches ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 17 April 1970 [18 April 1969] 18373/70 Heading H1N A high voltage isolator has a rotatable, vertical support insulator carrying an oblique, upwardly directed isolator blade which, when the insulator is rotated, describes part of a circular path lying in a horizontal plane to engage a stationary contact, the centre of this circle lying on the longitudinal axis of the rotatable insulator and its diameter being substantially less than or equal to the blade's length. In Fig, 2 a three phase isolator connects a bus bar system 1, 2, 3 with branch conductors 4, 5, 6. Each isolator pole comprises a vertical rotatable insulator 7 which carries an oblique, upwardly directed, isolator blade 8, which co-operates with a fixed peg contact 9 on the bus bar. The blade is pivotally suspended on a peg 23, Fig. 4 and kept in an upright position by a removable cotter 24, which is removed for maintenance of the blade. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the isolator is associated with a cable box, voltage transformer, current transformer and a further line isolator, in a switching station.
