Abstract
1,013,971. Gas-blast switches. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Jan. 5, 1962 [Jan. 5, 1961], No. 463/61. Heading H2B. In a poly-phase gas-blast circuit-breaker interrupter assemblies 24a, 24b each include two series connected interrupters 25 mounted on the ends of divergent arms 23a, 23b and the assemblies are " skewed " at an angle of say 10 degrees to the plane of the support insulators 21. This arrangement allows access to the ends of the interrupters and ensures that coincident exhaust blasts do not cause flashover between phases. The arrangement may also apply to a circuit-breaker with only one support insulator for each phase (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown).
