Abstract

1293430 Screw-and-nut mechanism CARL ZEISS JENA VEB 30 Dec 1970 61796/70 Heading F2Q A screw-and-nut mechanism with adjustable axial backlash comprises two ball nuts 2, 3 coaxially arranged in a tube 1, one of the nuts 3 engaging one side of a shoulder 7 projecting interiorly of the tube 1 and a wedge-ring 8 being located between the other nut 2 and the other side of the shoulder 7. The nuts are prevented from rotating within the tube 1 by springs or grooved wedges 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. The wedge-ring 8 may be adjusted by screw means 10 acting against a resilient element 11. In a modification, a wedge-ring 8 is located at one end of an assembly of nuts.
