Abstract

1289830 Loading & unloading containers STEADMAN INDUSTRIES (NASSAU) Ltd 5 Dec 1969 [10 Dec 1968] 58704/68 Heading B8Q A vehicle for transporting containers has means for loading and unloading which comprise a slidable member 14, Fig. 2, provided with independently operable latches 26, Fig. 4, for engaging a container and on its underside a rack which is engaged by an hydraulically reciprocated pawl 24, Fig. 5, which projects or retracts the member 15 over the side of the vehicle. The ram 22 which reciprocates the pawl is biased upward by a spring 64 and the pawl is rotated on the piston-rod through 180 degrees to select either pushing or pulling of the member 14. Other constructional features are as described in Specification 1,109,009.
