Abstract
1289277 Turnover apparatus H GUJER 27 May 1970 [28 May 1969] 25428/70 Heading B1C Apparatus for turning over organic waste material comprises a trolley 2 having freely suspended therefrom a heavy endless chain link scraper conveyor 1. The latter may be suspended from rollers 3, 4 on the trolley, roller 3 being driven by a drive (not shown). A weighting device e.g. a roller element may be made to bear on the lowest part of the conveyor to prevent the conveyor from climbing. A braking device comprising friction wheel 17 running on track 9 and coupled to the driven roller 3 by gearing 18 may be provided to control the rate of forward movement of the trolley, which is effected by circulation of the conveyor. The links may be provided with tines 7 arranged in a trailing manner with respect to the direction of travel of the conveyor, as shown. Alternatively, the links may be arranged obliquely to the plane of rotation of the conveyor, see Figs. 8, 9 (not shown). The latter may comprise a plurality of endless chains interconnected by appropriate coupling devices, Figs. 2-5 (not shown). One or more chains may be freely suspended from rollers which are adjustable so that the plane(s) of rotation of one or more chains may be adjusted relative to that of other chains, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown).
