Abstract
1286888 Injection moulding K AOKI 14 Oct 1970 [14 Oct 1969] 48926/70 Heading B5A Injection moulding apparatus comprises an injection chamber having an inlet, a nozzle forming an outlet, a valve member therein which, in one position, closes the outlet and leaves open the inlet and, in another position, closes the inlet and leaves open the outlet, a plunger to inject resin and means feeding resin into the chamber through the inlet. As shown in Fig. 3, the apparatus comprises mould parts 101, 102, a plasticizing cylinder 9, an injection chamber 1 and a plunger cylinder 5. A valve member 11 is located in chamber, is operated by cylinder 12 and has a flange valve 15 to close inlet 3 and a needle valve 14 to close nozzle outlet 2. With valve 15 open, valve 14 closed, resin is forced through inlet 3 into chamber 1 and cylinder 5 by screw 10 as plunger 6 is retracted by ram 8 of cylinder 7. Then with valve 15 closed and valve 14 open and the mould parts 101, 102 closed and clamped, plunger 6 is advanced and resin injected through passage 3<SP>1</SP>, nozzle 2 and into mould parts 101, 102, screw 10 meanwhile continuing its rotation. Cylinders 9, 5 and chamber 1 are all enclosed by heaters 16.
