Abstract

1286355 Optical apparatus W R LATADY and N P KENWORTHY 1 Sept 1970 41788/70 Addition to 1232810 Heading G2J A remote camera system comprises a television camera 24, support means for the camera adapted for selective linear and rotary movement, an elongated small diameter lens tube 26, containing an optical relay system extending from the camera 24, a remotely adjustable mirror 28 on the outer end of the lens tube adapted to reflect an image into the end of the lens tube, the optical relay system being adapted to transmit the entire image reflected thereinto by the mirror to the television camera, a television receiver 44 remote from the support means adapted to receive the image transmitted by the camera, and control means adjacent the remote television receiver for controlling the movement of the support means and the adjustable mirror 28, said elongated small diameter lens tube containing the optical relay system permitting the movement of the adjustable mirror into confined areas inacessible with conventional equipment. The camera and receiver may be coupled via cable 48, or by broadcast. Line 306 and apparatus 304 may allow videotaping or broadcasting of the signal produced by the camera.
