Abstract

1286283 Protective arrangements; battery charging systems STARKSTROM-ANLAGENBAU ERFURT VEB 16 Oct 1969 50951/69 Headings H2H and H2K A protective arrangement for a direct-current circuit 1, e.g. a charging circuit for an accumulator, comprises magnetic cores 2, 3 with direct current windings carrying the circuit current, windings 4, 5 connected in series with a rectifier bridge 9 to a square wave pulse generator 8, and feed-back windings 6, 7 connected through a variable resistor 12 to the rectifier bridge 9. The feed-back windings 6, 7 normally assist the D.C. windings which may be formed by the circuit 1. Under normal load conditions, the voltage drop across resistors 11, 12 is high and a device 13 is arranged to give no output to a relay circuit 14, 15. When the current drops or reverses, the voltage across the resistors 11, 12 falls and the device 13 provides an output to the relay circuit.
