Abstract

1282831 Screw conveyers N C D JENSEN [trading as DAHL'S MASKINFABRIK] 11 March 1971 6578/71 Heading B8A A screw conveyer for conveying grain from a heap comprises a conveying tube 1 having a flared end 4 from which extend three rods 5 united at a point on the axis of the tube 1 where they support a bearing 6 for a protruding part of a hollow drive shaft 3. Mounted on the shaft 3 within the tube 1 is a first screw portion 2. A tube 7 carrying a second screw portion 11 is slidingly mounted on the protruding part of the shaft 3 and has cut-outs C loaded by a spring 9 into contact with a drive pin 8 driven through the shaft 3. Should an operator get his foot trapped between the screw portion 11 and the flared end 4 of the tube 1 the tube 7 slides on the shaft 3 and the drive pin 8 is disengaged from the cut-outs C. When the foot is withdrawn the spring 9 re-engages the drive.
