Abstract
1282188 Mixing in conduits HOLCROFT & CO 18 Aug 1970 [15 Sept 1969] 39697/70 Heading B1C [Also in Division C5] An apparatus for producing simultaneously several different mixtures of the same two gases comprises two lines 54 and 55, one for each of the two gases to be mixed, and cross lines 66, 67 and 68, one for each mixture to be produced. Each cross line has valves (59, 60, 61, 69, 70, 71) near its ends, orifices (62, 63, 64, 72, 73 and 74) and an outlet (75, 76, 77) for the mixed gas. As described, one of the gases to be mixed is a reformed gas (see Division C5) comprising CO, hydrogen and nitrogen, the other a combustion product comprising CO 2 , nitrogen and a little water, and the mixed gases, are supplied to heattreating furnaces.
