Abstract

1280458 Gas cushion vehicle HOVERMARINE TRANSPORT Ltd 20 Aug 1969 [20 Aug 1968] 39679/68 Heading B7K A gas cushion vehicle of the sidewall type, Fig. 2, is provided with a flexible skirt comprising contiguous skirting elements constructed as described in Specification 1,109,562 flexibly suspended beneath the vehicle by means of webbing members 8, Fig. 4 having, at each end, shackles 15, 16 to which are releasably connected, via nylon rings 13, Fig. 5 and 14, Fig. 6 (not shown), ties in the form of nylon webs or straps 11, (12) stitched to the inner surfaces of flexible walls 9, (10) which are themselves secured to longitudinally spaced beams 50, 51 each perforated by a row of holes corresponding to holes 36, (46) in the walls. Each wall has stitched thereto a flap 37, (47) which is divided by slots into sections which fit into the hollows defined by the pairs of skirt members 7 so as to form a seal. The skirt may be of annular form so as to contain the gas cushion around the whole of its periphery.
