Abstract

1279519 Watches CITIZEN WATCH CO Ltd 17 Aug 1970 [16 Aug 1969 25 Aug 1969] 39623/70 Heading G3T A ring 10 for attaching a watch movement 22 to a middle ring 35 of a case has a web 11 with circumferential slots 26-28 to provide axial resilience, and a flange 12 from which fixing tongues 16, 17 are axially offset. The tongues are provided with holes 16a, 17a through which the ring is screwed to a plate (44) Fig. 2 (not shown) of the movement 22. Tightening of the fixing screws (36) causes the ring 10 to be expanded along a diameter joining the tongues 16, 17; the flange 12 is therefore provided with enlarged edge portions 33, 34 so that substantially all the outer periphery of the flange 12 is brought into contact with the inner surface of the ring 35. Axial projections 29-31 resiliently press against a shoulder 32a on the back 32 of the case, after assembly, to absorb external shocks. Embodiments with various forms of fixing tongues are described, and the fixing screws may be replaced by pins with tapered heads.
