Abstract

1,256,664. Watches. SUWA SEIKOSHA K. K. March 13, 1970 [March 28, 1969], No. 12247/70. Heading G3T. A waterproof watch case comprises an annular inner case 8 of metal and an annular outer case 7 made from coloured plastics. The outer case 7 is retained between a shoulder 13 and a bezel 9 which is an interference fit on the case 8, although alternative methods of mounting the case 7 such as screws, inter-engaging parts, adhesives, or deformation by heat may be used. The plastics case 7 may be resilient to absorb shocks and may be locked against rotation on the metal case 8 into which a back 11 is screwed with an intermediate gasket 12. The back 11 may alternatively snap into the case 8 or be integral with it, and the colour of the case 7 may be matched or contrasted with that of the watch strap or dial.
