Abstract

1276935 Cold liquefied gas storage tanks BRIDGESTONE LIQUEFIED GAS CO Ltd 30 April 1970 [1 May 1969] 20964/70 Heading F4P A generally rectangular inner liquefied gas containing shell 3, Fig. 4, of flexible sheet metal and having rounded edges 3b and corners 3c is supported by compression resistant heat insulation material 2, Fig. 3, e.g. hard foamed polyurethane between it and a rigid outer shell 1, e.g. a double hull and beneath each bottom corner of the inner shell the insulation layer has a recess 2a to accommodate flexure of corners 3c when the inner shell is loaded at low temperature. At ambient temperature and no load the shape of the inner shell 3 at a lower corner 3c is shown by a continuous line, at low temperature and no appreciable load the shape assumes that shown by dot-dash line 3<SP>1</SP> and at low temperature and high load the shape is shown by dotted line 3<SP>11</SP>.
