In a friction clutch having a driven disc 12 between a flywheel 10 and presser plate, a spring ring 27 carried by a recess 26 in a driven shaft 14 engages an inclined portion 28 of a hub 13 of the disc 12 to urge the disc 12 away from the flywheel 10 during disengagement.
