Abstract

1,250,948. Friction clutch. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. 16 Oct., 1970 [31 Oct., 1969], No. 53499/69. Heading F2C. A multi-plate friction clutch assembly 10, e.g. for connecting a motor cycle engine shaft 15 to the flywheel 17, comprises a pressure plate 23 urged to engage the clutch by an annular spring 31 reacting against an annular split ring 27 received in a groove 26 in axial extensions 20, or a single cylindrical extension, of the flywheel, the split ring 27 also having axial extensions 32 providing the fulcrum points for release levers 33 which are mounted on the extensions by spring clips 36.
