Abstract

1,274,095. Litters. W. L. GREENE. 2 Oct., 1969 [29 Oct., 1968], No. 48380/69. Heading A5X. [Also in Division F2] A litter comprises a pair of tubular members M each consisting of a straight central portion 12 sloping up at each end to elevated second portions 15 parallel to the central portion, which second portions curve laterally to form end portions 16, 64 at right angles to the central portions; the tubular members being connectible at the end portions 16 to define a generally rectangular frame, and having a plurality of substantially laterally projecting U-shaped brackets 20, 30, 40, 50 and 70 to support an injured persons body. The members M are connected at their ends by screw couplings R, and include a telescopic arrangement so that the litter may be lengthened as desired, comprising a projection 61 on a first segment of the central portions received in a second segment of the central portions, lock screws 62 being provided on one of the segments. Straps 110, 112 are provided to immobilise the head, and 130, 150, 150a and 170 to retain the injured person on the litter.
