Abstract

1,272,641. Releasable fastenings. BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO. Ltd. 23 July, 1970 [6 Sept., 1969], No. 44188/69. Headings E2A and E2B. Means for releasably securing the rear end of a tilting cab to the chassis of a vehicle comprises a keeper bar 24 adapted to be mounted on the chassis and a hook 10 for engagement with the keeper bar 24, the hook 10 being pivotally connected to a pair of parallel links 11, (12, Fig. 2, not shown) which are mounted for rectilinear movement in a bracket 15 adjusted to be rigidly secured to the cab frame. The links are moved by a lever operated cam 18 to bring the hook into and out of engagement with the keeper bar, the hook having a projection 29 which engages a roller 28 on the bracket to swing the hook clear of the keeper bar 24 when it has been disengaged therefrom. A safety hook co-operating with a separate keeper may be provided. In a modification the hook comprises two parts, a hook part mounted on a threaded rod which rod is screwed into the second part which is pivotally connected to the links (Fig. 3, not shown).
