Abstract

1,270,086. Extendable pouring spouts. RIEKE CORP. 6 April, 1970 [17 April, 1969], No. 16212/70. Headings B8D and B8T. A nestable pouring spout comprises a highly flexible body portion 37, a flexible base portion 33 and a rigid neck 18. A screw cap 31 supports the neck 18, and two bail handles 32 facilitate extending the spout to position 55. A cap skirt 41 provides support for the body portion 37 thereby minimizing bending and subsequent cracking. A modification provides axial ribs (57), Fig. 5 (not shown), on the skirt to further reduce flexing of the portion 37. An anchor ring 23 secures the pouring spout to a container and the cap is covered by a tamperproof seal 24.
