Abstract
902,281. Vacuum-Jacketed vessels. THERMOS Ltd. June 23, 1958, No. 20019/58. Addition to 703,688. Class 64 (2). [Also in Group XVII] In a vacuum flask closure arrangement (see Group XVII), which is an improvement in or modification of the closure of the parent Specification), a vacuum flask has a one-piece moulded polystyrene shoulder section 3 including a pouring lip 4 and a cylindrical part 7 and a separate polythene neck ring 8 is disposed between the neck 6 of the glass vessel 1 and part 7 and has a tapered flange 10 engaging with the inner face of part 7 to form a liquid-tight seal. Shoulder section 3 has a peripheral rim 11 to seat upon the top end of the casing 2, its lower part having a left-hand screw thread to engage a corresponding thread on the casing. In a modification (Fig. 3), the part 3 is separate and of metal or polystyrene and tip 4 has a shoulder section 20 and sealing flange 22. In another modification, Fig. 4, part 3 is separate and a sealing ring 24 is provided. Specifications 885,988 and 885,990 also are referred to.
