Abstract
1,269,562. Mixing fluid flows. SVENSKA FLYGMOTOR A.B. 17 June, 1969 [17 June, 1968], No. 30549/69. Heading B1C. [Also in Division Fl] Two gas or liquid streams flowing in parallel chanels 1, 5 are mixed by a plurality of inclined triangular deflectors 6 mounted with their apices upstream on a partition 3 separating the channels. They are preferably isoceles and as shown lie wholly in one of the flows; they may be supported by, and made integrally with, triangular side surfaces 7 and flanges 8. As depicted the invention is applied to a gas turbine by-pass engine wherein the channels 1, 5 and partition 3 are annular, combustion gas and cold air from the fan passing along channels 1, 5 respectively, (see also Fig. 2, not shown).
