Abstract

1,266,547. End plates for containers. KALLE A.G. 29 May, 1969 [30 May, 1968], No. 27207/69. Heading B8C. An integrally moulded, rectangular, end plate 1, for supporting one projecting end of a core of a roll of wound material when the roll is accommodated in a container 10, is provided, between an inner hub portion 3 for reception of the core end and an outer rim 4 for stitching, or stapling 11, to the container 10, with a radially corrugated web portion having, in the comers, depressions 8 which are each dimensioned to penetrate between the periphery of the roll and the adjacent sides of the shell. The depressions also enable additional stitching or stapling at the corners between the rim 4 and the container 10. The plate 1 is made of deep drawable plastics material, the rim 4, which may be tapered toward one, or both sides, having lugs 5 and preferably a flange 6 with teeth to engage the outside of the container. The latter is made of a single folded sheet, which is united along its abutting edges by an adhesive tape 12. The hub 3 is preferably an open cylinder closed by a disc suitable for identification purposes, and for large rolls, the depth of the depressions, may exceed the rim width.
