Abstract

1,265,278. Cutting apparatus. A. PIAZZA. 24 April, 1970, No. 19942/70. Heading B4B. A paper cutting machine comprises a pair of blades 28, 28<SP>1</SP> vertically movable on either side of a vertically movable clamp 29 within a frame 23, 23<SP>1</SP>, 24, 24<SP>1</SP>, a work-table 251 and an auxiliary table 9, Fig. 1, arranged to be moved between a first position in alignment with the work-table and a second retracted position. The blades 28, 28<SP>1</SP> are secured to knife beams (27), Fig. 7 (not shown), which are actuated by means of an hydraulic ram (36) via levers (34), (32). The clamp is actuated by means of an hydraulic ram 31; alternatively it may be actuated by a spring device and it may be replaced by two clamps positioned side-by-side between the two blades. The auxiliary table 9 is pivoted at 10 to the work-table, Fig. 1. In a modification, Fig. 2, the work-table 11<SP>1</SP> and auxiliary table 11 are formed in one piece, the tables being movable on a slide rod 12 via rollers (15, 17), Fig. 4 (not shown); a second auxiliary table may be mounted on the opposite end of the work-table.
