Abstract
1,263,536. Coking briquettes. BERGWERKSVERBAND G.m.b.H. 16 June, 1969 [10 July, 1968], No. 30328/69. Addition to 1,047,449. Heading C5G. Briquettes made from granular coal or other granular carbonaceous material, e.g. coke dust, and sulphite dye binder by the method of the parent Specification are subjected to heat treatment at a temperature beneath the softening point of the briquettes and then coked. The heat-treatment temperature is preferably in the range 200‹ to 400‹ C., and should last for at least 10 minutes, optionally in the absence of air. Coking may be carried out in the same furnace as the heat-treatment, the temperature and oxygen supply being adjusted.
