Abstract
1,263,379. Diazonium compounds. G.A.F. CORP. 17 June, 1969 [18 June, 1968], No. 30612/69. Heading C2C. [Also in Division G2] The invention comprises compounds of the formula where R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are alkyl, aralkyl or together form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring with the nitrogen atom, R<SP>3</SP> is H, halogen or alkoxy, n is 1-4 and Y is an anion. The compounds may be prepared by reacting a [2-substituted] 5- nitrophenol with a chlorine-substituted nitrile, catalytically reducing the nitro group in the product to the amine, diazotizing and forming the diazonium salt.
