Abstract

1,262,062. Dyeing with sulphur dyes. CASSELLA FARBWERKE MAINKUR A.G. 6 Feb., 1970 [7 Feb., 1969], No. 5856/70. Heading D1B. [Also in Divisions C6 and C7] Sulphur dyestuffs are reduced electrolytically. Examples include impregnation of cotton with electrolytically reduced immedial carbon from a solution containing soda and sodium hydrogen sulphide or glucose, the cloth thereafter being steamed, rinsed and oxidized with bichromate/acetic acid. Cotton fabric may be impregnated at 25‹C with a liquor containing the electrolytically reduced product of the above dyestuff with calcined soda and glucose. The fabric is squeezed, steamed for 60 seconds at 105‹, rinsed and oxidised. An aqueous solution of Hydrosol Fast Yellow G is electrolytically reduced, stabilised by addition of sodium sulphite or sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate and used for dyeing by the above mentioned methods. An aqueous paste of Immedial New Blue F.B.L. is dispersed in water and electrolytically reduced, the product being stirred with sodium dye to dissolve any sulphur impurity and stabilised by addition of sodium borohydride dissolved in sodium lye. Cotton fabric is impregnated at 25‹ with a liquor containing the stabilised product and Glauber's salt, the further treatment being similar to that described above.
