Heading C3P [Also in Divisions C2 and C5] Conjugated dienes or acetylenes are polymerized in the presence of a catalyst of formula where R are organic radicals, z is 1 or 2, and y is 2 or 3. In the example, butadiene is polymerized in the presence of [(cyclo C 6 H 11 ) 3 P] 2 - Ni-N#N-Ni[P(cyclo C 6 H 11 ) 3 ] 2 .
