Abstract
1,259,662. Knitting. BOEHRINGER G.m.b.H. GEB. 23 July, 1969 [26 July 1968], No. 36995/69. Headings D1C and D1K. A multisection straight-bar knitting machine comprises, in each section, a pair of narrowing fingers 34 or 134 with transfer points 28, for fashioning the piece being knitted, and movable parallel to the axis of a lace drum attachment 14 over the entire width of the section. As shown, the shaft 16 of lace drum 14 is rotatably and longitudinally mounted within the frame carrying the narrowing fingers 34 of each section. During step wise rotation of drum 14, clips 18 carried thereon operate on levers 20 pivoted on a horizontal pivot 22, one of which is provided for each needle space, to engage lace points 26. Narrowing points 28 are removably secured on each of the narrowing fingers 34 which are secured to members 46, 48 on brackets 42, 44 carried on bars 38, 40. In another arrangement, fingers (134) are carried on bars (138), (140) spaced from the lace drum attachment, Fig. 5 (not shown). The machine produces, e.g. blanks, for garments with lace patterns on lines 10. (For Figures see next page)
