Abstract
1,258,454. Epoxy resin coating. REICHHOLD-ALBERT-CHEMIE A.G. 25 March, 1969 [8 April, 1968], No. 15537/69. Heading B2E. [Also in Division C3] Substrates of metal and glass are coated with a composition comprising an epoxy resin cured with a mixture of (I) 30-60% by wt. of an adduct of a mono- or di-epoxide and a polyamine; (II) 25-45% by wt. of the polyamine; and (III) 5-25% by wt. of a mono- and/or diphenol, the sum of I, II and III being 100%. I may be formed from a monoglycidyl ether, e.g. derived from phenol, p-tert-butyl phenol, cresol or from 2-ethylhexanol. II may be 3-ammiomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine, cyclohexyl - bis - (methylamine), tricylododecanediamine, ethylenediamine or 2,2,4-(2, 4, 4)-trimethylhexamethylenediamine. III may be phenol or bisphenol A. The coating may be cured at ambient temperature or at up to 150‹C.
