Abstract

1,256,012. Target. B. I. BURSTROM. 21 July, 1969 [19 July, 1968], No. 36564/69. Heading A6S. A self-indicating target is provided with a plurality of individual target sections 9, 10, 11, and 12 slideably arranged behind one another and kept together by magnetic guides 13, 14, 15 and 16, such that when any target section is hit by a projectile, that section and all others behind it, are detached from the magnetic attraction of the others, and slide rearwardly on rearwardly and downwardly inclined guide rods 1, 2, thus indicating a "score". The bulls eye comprises a permanent magnet 7 which holds all the target sections in place, by their guide tubes, the attractive force of magnet 7 decreasing towards the rear of the target. To prevent wobbling each target section has a guide block 28, slideable on the opposite guide rod, to the guide tube of that target section. Displaced sections are returned to their original position by means of cords 17, 20 and lever 19. The whole assembly is collapsible into a folding box 4.
