Abstract
1,254,275. Loose covers for furniture. C. KERFOOT and A. SHALOM [trading as PORTLAND CO.]. Nov. 25, 1968 [Nov. 29, 1967], No.54229/67. Heading A4M. A reversible cover for a chair, seat, cushion or the like comprises panels 10, 12 directly joined together at their adjacent edges 16, 18 such that the extremities of all the edges are concealed in both reversed conditions of the cover. In one embodiment, Fig. 3d, the edges are stitched together, at 20 and covered by piping 14 stitched, at 22, to the edges. In another embodiment, Fig. 4d, the edges are first stitched together, at 20, and the panels 10, 12 are then folded over and further stitched at 24 to enclose the first stitching 20. Alternatively, when using plastics panels and/ or piping the stitching is replaced by welding.
