Abstract

1,253,539. Injection moulding. WELLMAN ENG. CORP. Ltd. 3 Dec., 1969 [5 Sept., 1968], No. 42356/68. Heading B5A. An injection mould cavity 13 is evacuated through one or more passages 17, the or each passage containing an ejector pin 19 which is operable by means of a rod 25. The pin 19 may carry a valve head 22 which is normally held clear of its seating 21 by means of a spring 30 adjustable by a screw 31. Suction is applied through a duct 32 in a gas-tight chamber 14 and air may be blown in through the duct 32 and passage 17 to assist ejection of the moulded article.
