Abstract

1,251,950. Haemostatic apparatus. J. AROUETE. 13 May, 1970 [29 July, 1969], No. 23188/70. Headings ASK and A5R. Haemostatic apparatus for use in operations on the human head comprises a frame 1 with an aperture 3, an inflatable loop shaped tube 12 attached to said frame, a two part strap 8 with a screw clamp 13, and a protective head band 11. In use the device is placed over the patient's head and is tightened by means of the screw clamp. The tube is manually inflated via conduit 5 using a pumping bulb 6. The air pressure in the tube which should be greater than the patient's blood pressure is monitored by the manometer 7. The operation is normally performed through the aperture 3.
